Kizomba Open Workshop Level:

These classes are not suited for absolute beginners. To build a strong foundation, we recommend attending our beginner Salsa & Bachata classes, where you’ll develop essential skills in partner work and body awareness.

The Open Level class is designed for dancers who already have experience in Salsa and Bachata and are looking to transition into Kizomba. If you’ve previously taken Kizomba classes at Salsa Latina or elsewhere, this class is perfect for you as well.

For those wanting a head start, check out our Kizomba Beginner Online Course to get started at your own pace

Kizomba Beginner online course!

What is Kizomba?  Kizomba was popularised in Portugal from Passada, its a beautiful, sensual partner dance that is a fusion of European, African and Caribbean styles...  see history for more info >

Salsa & Bachata Imp-Int Workshop Level:

Improver-Intermediate and above workshops are designed for dancers above beginners or who have passed a beginners grading in that styles.

The level is designed for dancers who know their beginner fundamentals and pushing into higher levels.

If you are new to our classes and are visiting Christchurch, and would like to experience a casual class, or if you already have experience in the dance style being taught you have the option to come, drop-in and give it a go. You will have needed to have learnt more than 2 months previously in another dance school. If you're not sure please  contact us here >

Beginners Info:

Beginners, these classes are not yet suitable for you. However, with some practice, you will soon be able to participate – a fantastic goal to work towards! We recommend joining our weekly beginner courses during the week so you can get to the higher levels.

Typically, progression from the Beginners level to this stage occurs after successfully completing a beginner course which has a grading on the last week. As a result, enrollment is automatic and not necessary.

Gradings or assessments are normally required for these classes. but being a one-off workshop style class we're more lenient. Since these classes are a mix of solo & partner dancing, knowing our syllabus, fundamentals & dance systems will make these classes far easier.
