If you've ever considered competing on an international level, or simply wish to explore more about the competitive salsa world, here is a list of the current best salsa competitions worldwide. Beyond social dancing and shows, competition is a significant aspect of salsa dancing, particularly for some of the leading salsa dancers globally. Here is a list of the main international Salsa Competitions in the world.



1) WORLD LATIN DANCE CUP

Founded by Albert Torres in 2010, the inaugural World Latin Dance Cup, or WLDC, is among the longest-standing international salsa dance competitions globally.

Besides salsa, this competition features a range of Latin dance styles including bachata and cha cha cha categories. Initially launched in the US, the competition has been held in Colombia since 2019, one of the leading countries for salsa dancing worldwide.



2) THE SUMMIT CHAMPIONSHIPS

In 2022, Billy Fajardo initiated his own global competition. The Summit is held in the USA, showcasing a thousand competitive categories across various Latin dance styles, making it one of the world's largest competitions today. website: https://thesummitchampionship.com





3) EUROSON LATINO WORLD SALSA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Euroson Latino ranks among the leading festivals in Mexico's salsa scene, and the competition it hosts has evolved into one of the world's most competitive events.

Launched in 2009, the event known as the “Euroson Latino World Salsa Championship” draws top salsa dancers from Mexico and globally. Similar to many international salsa contests, this championship has expanded to feature other styles like bachata, kizomba, and cha cha cha.
